Falling for Emma was a really sweet, quick romance featuring a blind guitarist! Just a few months ago, Cyril was in a car accident that left his face scarred, his eyes useless, and his hearing muffled. He's finally reentering the world with the help of a friend, and has started a routine of eating breakfast at the Bistro La Bohème. It's there that a young woman, whom he assumes is just a fan of his music, approaches him. It's almost as if he knows her, and soon he's falling for the mysterious Laura.Of course, Laura is really Emma. Hence, Falling for Emma. Emma has been gathering her courage to talk to Cyril about something important. She can't do it as herself because of reasons. I wasn't quite convinced by her reason though. It seems like the thing she wanted to tell him wouldn't make sense coming from a new acquaintance. Although I suppose she used a fake name and took advantage of his blindness, to get close to him and then was going to come clean. Maybe. Either way, I felt so bad for Cyril because he literally could not see this coming. He was finally opening up to someone only to be lied to. Obviously they make up since this is a romance.
I thought Falling for Emma was really sweet. Other than Emma's "confession" I really believed these characters. Cyril is struggling with his new reality, and he hasn't been able to write any new songs. He's just lost, but "Laura" brings him back.

Falling for Emma A Rock Star Romance La Bohème Book 3 edition by Alix Nichols Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Painful for me admission. The book did not measure up. I owned this book already, when I received an ARC in exchange for a fair review, where this title was included in slightly longer version, then the copy I already had. It had an added first chapter, that explained long standing love Emma had for Cyril, and the epilogue in which they have their well explained happy end.
Those added chapters did not, however, fix what was wrong with the book, for me.
I couldn't stomach the fact that the Hero was her sister's guy. For years He stays with the sister, she doesn't love him the way he deserves to be loved, but it doesn't bother him enough to stop sleeping with the lady. They are a couple.
For me, that's the end. This is the moment Emma should bury Him and her love for him in her mind. Over and out. Gone. No matter what, I cannot identify with a heroine who shares a guy with a sister, nor can I like a fellow who is not bothered by it and goes from one to the other. This sister stuff killed the book for me. It is not enough, that they didn't share him at the same time.
I went through the story by blocking that fact. I said to myself that they were foster sisters, or "frenemy" neighbours living next door. Something. Otherwise I would have to fight nausea at each kiss.
I was also bothered by a completely un-blind behavior of the freshly blinded hero. Leaving sox on the floor is just one example. His ear buds to listen to his music, while wearing hearing aid in both ears bothered me, too.
This stepping away from "write what you know" rule by the author who's so solidly reliable, when it comes to the research required for her books, is unexpected and disappointing. Especially since her books aren't cheap, and her readers are accustomed to the highest quality.
The quality was still visible in the background, in the crafty connection to the other book's heroes, in the sublime flavor of France and Europe in the thinking of the heroes. But it wasn't enough to make this book OK for me.
You might not be bothered by this sisterhood sex sharing, you might think me overreacting. This review is, however my honest opinion and I have to stick to it.
Even if I feel like a backstabbing worm. I owe the readers my true thoughts.
Since the first day she laid eyes on French singer Cyril, she fell in love with him. The only downside was that he never felt the same way as he was head over heels in love with someone else - that someone else was Emma's older sister Gerrie. The pair has been together for years and the crush that Emma had didn't go away, so she did on a sabbatical to Asia. When she came back, her feelings still hadn't changed. Now she has to tell him how she feels to move on. While she has been away, Cyril was in an accident that left him blind and scarred. He has been busy drinking away at the Bistro La Boheme and finding his and Gerrie's relationship straining. Enter Emma under the false name of Laura, she befriends Cyril, and soon he is feeling better than ever, he is laughing away and seems like he is back to a happier version of himself thanks to Emma -I mean Laura. What will happen though when Laura is about to tell him the truth, that she is, in fact, Emma and loves him when her sister Gerrie turns up and spoils the occasion by blurting the truth to Cyril? Falling for Emma was a cute romance story, and I love ones like this where they finally discover who they are meant to be with, but I am not one personally for the playing games of deception, but it does make the story more intense.
